Work Series

"Work Series" is a category grouping various long-running project series that Cullen developed over many years. Each series reflects different approaches to installation. Provisional Arrangements were installed in landscapes, where the artist brought a series of props, including found materials and assemblages, and combined them with materials found on-site, often reusing them across different installations. Situations followed a similar approach but was installed in urban contexts, such as city streets and hotel rooms, often while the artist was travelling. Attempts focused on installing an ordinary pencil in various locations around the world. The Provisional Arrangements, Situations, and Attempts series were installed without a formal audience, and these works exist only through documentation. Falsework, consists of works installed in gallery contexts, involved the use of found furniture, propped against the ceiling with timber.
